About This Calculator
The break-even point is where revenue exactly equals total costs (fixed + variable).
It is found by dividing fixed costs by the contribution margin per unit (selling price minus variable cost). The result is rounded up to whole units, since you cannot sell a fraction of a product, plus the equivalent break-even revenue.
